Located in a leafy green street in Prahran, this heritage extension aims to provide a gallery-style home where natural light is maximised. The new extension generates a contrasting architectural language to the heritage front, while still remaining connected through the gable roof form. On a tight site of only seven metres wide, the planning aims to maximise floor space for residents, while providing them with a light and bright open space for displaying artwork. The back end of the house opens to the terrace and pool area, with a continual terrazzo floor joining the spaces and creating an inside-outside feel where boundaries no longer exist.
