WARRNAMBOOL, 2000

Nestled into the dunes of Warrnambool, the structure was designed to be considerate of the aerodynamics of the location, and to have a minimal impact on the natural state of the site. Tracing the viewing pattern of visitors combined with a sympathetic response to the landscape revealed the opportunity to build an extruded stadium with the inclusion of multiple vantage points. I love the whale watching platform at Logan’s beach, it accommodates the hordes of people from the youngest child to the elderly in wheelchairs that flock there, by allowing all to view the spectacle of nature unobscured. This is the essence of what great architecture is all about, creating for the joy of others.
