Victoria Street Apartments

Elsternwick, 2009

Nine ecologically sustainable apartments located in Elsternwick, nearby the Glen Huntly Road shops and numerous public-transport options. Public and private spaces borrow from each other, there by improving the amenity of both. This project incorporates large north facing landscape volumes that have been “scooped” out of the building envelope to provide space for substantial trees to flourish. This strategy enables each apartment to benefit from a “shared zone” of connected landscape, generated from analysis of site lines. Designed to create a sense of “home”, generous rooms and balconies allow for mature trees on every level.
