Rammed Earth Eco Resort

Victoria   2010

Divided in to three link pavilions, the design combines the solidness of 400 thick rammed earth wall whilst cleverly floating the open roof structure. Creating a building that blurs the boundary between sky, landscape and views.

The buildings embed season activities in to the architecture. Indoor, outdoor spaces are protected from the harsh summer sun. In winter the flexible design enables the occupants and management to easily change modes, maximising the winter warmth of the sun.

Here is a building that is not limited by the restraints of a narrow site, tricky orientation and the desire to capture and frame views. The architecture response to all these, combining the beautiful of rammed earth and Tallowood to create an ageless piece of modern design.
