Artisan: the Best Multi-Residential Design 2016

At EME Design we feel very pleased by the recognition from BDAV judges for the exceptional work executed with Artisan Apartments, a unique project that won Best Multi-Residential Design Award 2016!

The Artisan Apartments are a compelling proposal for sustainable densification that promotes community within a small urban footprint. This multi-residential exemplar seriously addresses the growing demand for apartments with the amenity of a house. Skewing of walls provides all apartments with spacious north facing living and private balconies with ample room for BBQs and lush planters.  Generous room sizes, great spatial qualities and flexible floor plans are enhanced with carefully framed views of parkland.

Some of the remarkable Artisan’s features mentioned by the judges:

“The Artisan Apartments are carefully connected, stunningly sculptural homes for local empty nesters and young professionals. Indoor/outdoor pedestrian links and terraces provide comfortable spaces that encourage neighbourly interaction, making this a friendly and welcoming place to live.

Every apartment has abundant natural light through carefully framed windows, beautiful balconies, creative interiors and fabulous views of surrounding vegetation.

The judges were impressed with the quality of design, site response and outstanding environmental sustainability. Additionally, universal design and liveability are fully implemented, ensuring the building is future-proofed. The changing requirements of occupants due to aging or disability can be cost-effectively achieved with minor modifications due to excellent consideration of adaptable design principles. All these factors make this an exemplar of multi-residential design.” – BDAV judges
